inFAMOUS: Second Son, Photo Mode

Have you ever consider what if Instagram never emerged? There will be only handful of people posting their food to internet. Now, Instagram has already come to life and everybody (well, not all) post any picture. Food, beautiful moment, or selfies. Okay, selfies. I guess that term is just recently established though a lot of people already do selfie.

Now, what if there is Instagram for game, inside a game. A lot of people will upload their footage, I guess. And that guess is not wrong. inFAMOUS: Second Son is one of the earliest, or maybe the first, game with the pre-installed footage editing capabilities, designed to edit the glorius gaming moment before it is taken into screenshot. What capabilities? Orbital mode, field of view editing, orientation rotating, multiple color grading (just like Instagram), and the most useful feature of all: apperture and focal point settings. Even a complete stranger (to photography) like me can create a motion blur and “bokeh” effect inside the photos.

What’s the point of this? It totally changes the way we play the game. It is really a game changer. Back then, we play the game, capture the footage, upload, and voila, that’s it. Now? Selfie is everywhere. A beautiful combination of “state-of-the-art” Playstation 4 graphics capability with impressive game engine which run inFAMOUS: Second Son resulting a lot of people upload their screenshot everywhere. Really. Check these out:

  2. NeoGAF (this one is a photo contest, wow)

I did upload some screenshots as well. I guess this is our current state of gaming, where gaming is not a mere playing. Right now, gaming is also means bragging, sharing, and inviting. It’s not about between you and the game, not about people and their games. It’s about you, me, and everybody else interacting with or within the game.
